Bonjour!

Today was my second day in Paris.  Even though it was supposed to be my first full day in Paris I ended up accidentally sleeping in until noon.  Silly jetlag.  When I finally got out of the room I'm staying in and onto the streets of Paris by myself for the first time it was fun and terrifying at the same time.  I am very outgoing and talkative by nature,  but when I am forced to use another language (even one that I know as well as I know French, which is fairly well) I tend to not speak and to be more timid.  This may be a problem in the future here, we'll just have to see.  I don't yet have any pictures of the outside world to post, but I have a cool panoramic picture of the room that I'm living in (I really just wanted to try out the panoramic photo option on my new camera).

So far this is the most exciting picture I've taken of France, hopefully soon I'll have something more to share!

And, one last thing before I get off the internet for today.  I decided to go out and get lunch when I woke up at noon, and so I walked to a nearby boulangerie/patisserie that sold bread and sandwiches and stuff and was able to order a quiche l'onion and one croissant regulaire and complete the financial part of the transaction entirely in French!  It was awesome!  And I got to use my cash monies Euros for the first time (the rest of the time I've been using my Euro loaded card) and so I got a bunch of little coin monies Euros and they're cute and awesome...though I know that in the near future getting coins in place of my bills is going to be annoying because coins are heavy.  But the whole buying things in French thing was awesome!!!

  1. I've no doubt that in no time you will get more comfortable and revert to your natural outgoing ways. Your room is cute! Love & cheers from Aunt Cheri
